Article Acceptance Process
How to prepare and submit an article: The journal will only review articles that have been submitted through the electronic system of this system.
- To submit an article, first register in the system. The relevant option is located in the menu at the top right of the page.
The author/authors are required to read the author's guide in this system before submitting an article to the journal and prepare their article carefully based on it.
Initial review: After the article is submitted by the author/authors, the journal's editorial department reviews the subject and generality, and if the article is in line with the journal's goals and thematic context, it is submitted to the refereeing process. (In cases where the article is not in line with the journal's goals and thematic context, the author/authors will be notified through the system.)
Reference to referees: At this stage, two referees evaluate the article, and their opinions will be communicated to the author/authors of the article through this system. If the article is rejected by the referees, the author/authors will be notified through this system.
- If one referee rejects the article and the other referee accepts it or finds it acceptable with amendments, the article will be referred to a third subject referee for review so that he/she can also express his/her opinion on the matter. In this situation, the decision-making criterion of the quarterly journal for accepting or rejecting the article will be two votes out of three votes of the referees.
- At this stage, after the author/authors have made the amendments required by the referees, the revised article will be sent to the quarterly journal through this system to be reviewed for the second round of amendments. If the referees' opinion is met, the article will be accepted and the author/authors will be notified through this system.
Necessary actions after the article is accepted: After the article is accepted by the quarterly journal, the authors are required to make the editorial amendments to their article for publication and send the article to the quarterly journal through this system within the stipulated time. (If the author/authors do not make such corrections within the stipulated time, their publication will be delayed.)
- It is emphasized that the author/authors are committed to making corrections to the article at each stage according to the stipulated time that will be notified to them through this system, otherwise, the article will be excluded from the review process at the pre-acceptance stage and will be delayed in its publication at each stage after acceptance.
Other points: The quarterly accepts only articles that are related to foreign policy or diplomacy.
The quarterly is excused from receiving articles whose author has an article under review or in the process of being published in this quarterly, or whose number of authors is more than three.
- To submit a new article for review, at least one year must have passed since the date of publication of the author's last article in the quarterly.
-Sending any file outside the system is not valid and has no effect, so please refrain from sending the article in the initial review stage and from correcting the referees' responses to the publication's email.
-Processing and printing of the article in the Foreign Policy Quarterly is free.
