Korean Reunification and Japanese Stance

Abstract
The present article aims to analyze the Japan’s stance toward reunification of KoreanPeninsula. It will evaluate the hypothesis that Japan and other influential powers in the region seemingly agree with unification of two Koreas, but actually make impediments for this process. Foreign powers including China, Russia and the United States follow different goals and priorities with regard to KoreanPeninsula though they all support the aim of peaceful unification verbally. In other words, in contrast with the process which resulted in the collapse of communism, the mentioned powers do not will for the collapse of North Korea and each aims to stabilize this state.
