Identity Analysis of Foreign Policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran ‎

Abstract
The foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran is a reflection of its contemporary history and the most important connecting link of the Islamic Revolution with the world. The present article will give an analytical study of the foreign policy of Iran noting two major considerations: First, regardless of different discourses of the governments after the revolution, this study will be based on the major discourse and defining elements of the foreign policy of Iran. Second, contemplating on theory of constructivism regarding the independent role of the soft-ware construction of the system and cognitive environment in foreign policy and the impact of dialectic with domestic culture and identity, this study analyzes the explanatory and comparative potential of this approach for analyzing the foreign policy of Iran.  Finally, due to the assumed identity elements for the Islamic Republic, the author will assess the identity behavior of the Islamic Republic of Iran vis-à-vis the United States and the Zionist regime
