Economic Diplomacy in Foreign Policy of I. R. Iran: the Case ‎Study of Imposed War

Document Type : Research Paper

Abstract
The present article aims to study the grounds, challenges and status of economic diplomacy in foreign policy of the I. R. Iran during the imposed war. The paper reflects that, due to domination of wartime economic priorities and political considerations, priority of internal issues over international issues, and increasing role of government in managing the national economy, economic diplomacy was not a key point in the country during the wartime. During this period, economy was an instrument in the hand of government whose efforts were to employ this instrument to provide political stability, national security, as well as the defense goals.
