Nation-State building is a new important subject in international relations. Among the areas of concern on this subject are the republics of former Soviet Union. The process of Nation-State building in these countries has faced challenges and impediments. The situation of progress in this process among these states is quite different. Some has almost failed in this process and some have a better situation. The Republic of Azerbaijan is among the countries the process of nation-state building has faced several challenges. Despite all efforts, Azerbaijan has not been able to overcome the most vital challenges, in particular with regard to Karabakh.
The present article while considering some important elements in the process of nation-state building will analyze the situation of this process   in this country.
