The role and position of Asia and inter-Asian interaction and integration is among the important headlines in international relations. Asian integration and shaping the developments and trends of this old continent in line with collective and common interests of Asian nations is an important issue in Asian and international studies literature.
The current article based on historical position and the trend of Asian development in recent decades, aims to explain the grounds for Asian cooperation, interconnectedness and cultural, economic and political integration in 21^st century named as the Asian century. The Asian status in international system, theoretical framework of Asian integration, Asianism from Asian perspective, Asian policy of trans-continent powers, Asian emerging identity, challenges and opportunities for Asian integration and Iranian view to the Asian integration are the main subjects of this article.
