The Common Variables of Peace in Constructivism Theory and the Idea of Dialogue among Civilizations
Document Type : Research Paper
Abstract
To establish and preserve peace is an imminent and prominent concern for human being. Dialogue among civilizations, as a doctrine encouraging peace and denouncing violence, consists of elements which could contribute to global peace. Constructivism, as a new discourse in international relations, also includes principles that could influence the success of peace studies. The present article, applying a descriptive-explanatory method, aims to explain the peace elements in these two approaches and to suggest the integration between ‘constructivism’ and ‘dialogue among civilizations’ in the area of peace studies. The findings of the article prove that both approaches recognize a collection of elements as contributing factors to strengthening peace and stability in international system.
