The new political, security and geopolitical developments in the Middle East after the September 11 and Iraqi invasion has made the Middle Eastern issues more general, interconnected and international. This has also connected the security system of the Middle East to international security system. The new development has also changed the political and power structure of the region in favor of Iran resulting in strengthening the regional role and bargaining power of the Islamic Republic in the region. The author believes that increasing Iran’s role is due to enjoying a higher geopolitical position as well as cultural and ideological elements of power of the country from one hand and the new political and security developments in the region and emergence of a new definition of the nature of threats for international security from the other. From this view Iran is a point to link the Middle East security to international security. The author concludes that Iran has a good opportunity to strengthen its strategic position in the region. این تحقیقبه بررسی جایگاه فعلی ایران در نظام امنیت خاورمیانه و امنیت بین‌الملل می‌پردازد. نویسنده استدلال می‌کندکه تحولات جدید سیاسی – امنیتی و ژئوپلتیک در خاورمیانه بعد از حوادث 11 سپتامبر و بحران عراق، مسائل خاورمیانه را عمومی‌تر، به هم پیوسته‌تر و بین‌المللی‌تر کرده و این امر نظام امنیت خاورمیانه را به نظام امنیت بین‌الملل متصل کرده است. همچنین تحولات جدید ساخت قدرت و سیاست در منطقه را به نفع ایران تغییر داده که نتیجة آن افزایش نقش منطقه‌ای و قدرت چانه‌زنی ایران در مسائل جاری خاورمیانه می‌باشد. از نظر نویسنده افزایش نقش ایران به دلیل برخورداری از موقعیت برتر و طبیعی ژئوپلتیک و همچنین عناصر فرهنگی و ایدئولوژیک قدرت ملی از یک‌سو و بروز تحولات سیاسی – امنیتی در سطح منطقه و تعریف جدید از ماهیت تهدیدات امنیت بین‌الملل از سوی دیگر می‌باشد. از این لحاظ، ایران به یکی از نقاط اتصال امنیت خاورمیانه به امنیت بین‌الملل تبدیل شده است. نویسنده نتیجه‌گیری می‌کند که ایران باید از این فرصت پدید آمده نهایت استفاده را برده و به تثبیت جایگاه استراتژیک خود در منطقه بپردازد. https://fp.ipisjournals.ir/article_9671_4572101f572c37f203cd8690fe6e4eeb.pdf
